Give to help us raise $260,000 for food, counseling, and connection this year.

When you give to Help Spread Hope, you will support your community today and into the future with the accessible support we all need to thrive. For 60 years, in the heart of Downtown Portland, William Temple House has been the only place in Portland where someone can get low-cost counseling (even without insurance), shop for free groceries, and get connected to other resources.

Give today and:

$100 pays for a person’s counseling session

$250 covers 2 sessions of family counseling

$1000 secures 4,000 pounds of food for our pantry and will be doubled by the Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund (see below)

“I have had counseling at different places for more than 23 years with little and sometimes no progress. [At William Temple House] I have come from being chaotic and feeling suicidal to having my life be manageable and have hope in the future. William Temple House is so successful a program. This community is blessed to have it. Thank you!” —Carolyn (pseudonym)

In a time when federal funding cuts to SNAP and Medicaid are pulling back support for the average person, this accessible, community support matters more than ever. Because of you, Portlanders like Carolyn know they can always turn to William Temple House.

NEW this December: Thanks to the Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund, your gift of $500–$5,000 will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $40,000. That means twice the meals served, twice the counseling sessions made possible, and twice the support for our community.

New this year: Crowdfund for William Temple House with GiveButter! Click this link to create your own personal fundraiser in support.
