Internships

William Temple House offers internship opportunities for masters-level counseling interns.

About the Counseling Internship

Our counseling program is a top choice for graduate students from Oregon and programs nationwide. Interns, drawn from counseling, family therapy, social work, and related programs, gain valuable experience in mental health care. With a caseload of over 10 clients, interns receive regular supervision and participate in skill-building sessions.

About the application process

We welcome applications from various counseling disciplines, including LPC, MFT, and MSW. Applications are accepted year-round, with interviews offered at different times. While we typically don’t accept new interns during the academic year, exceptions may be made based on circumstances and application review.

Being a part of the internship program at William Temple House was one of the most pivotal times in my life, and I will be forever indebted to the amazing mentors and peers I worked alongside … I cannot communicate strongly enough what an important and integral program and service this is to the Portland-area community and how very lucky you are to be a part of it.
