William Temple House Jam! is a 1-day music event featuring 6 local talents in the garden of the historic Mackenzie Building right in NW Portland on May 9th, 2026, from 2pm to 8pm. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, William Temple House Jam! will be an inclusive community benefit concert where 100% of proceeds will fund William Temple House’s low-cost counseling and social services.
Your admission ticket gets you in the door for all six musical performances, the exclusive William Temple House Thrift Store pop-up, and the dance floor. We’ll have local food and drinks, raffle tickets, and more available for purchase throughout the day, with proceeds supporting our counseling & social services. Come for the music, stay for the community, and help us make mental health support accessible to all.

Ned & Wendy the Band
Ned and Wendy the Band is a Portland-based Glam-Folk duo formed by married musicians Jordan & Lindsey Plotner. Beyond regular live performances throughout Portland and beyond, the duo is also known for their multimedia endeavors, blending cinematic film, colorful abstract art, and original music to create a world of their own—a world which all are invited to visit. With a love of community and connection, and a proclivity for songs that make you want to dance while crying, Ned and Wendy the Band are on a mission to create joy, wonder, and kick-ass music.
Frecks
Frecks is comprised of two twenty-something members named Jayden and Jeremy from Portland, Oregon. Jayden has been writing music since her early teen years and draws inspiration from all aspects of her life. Pulling from concepts of introspection and undying love, she aims to tug on heartstrings with dreamy guitar riffs and haunting melodies.
Jeremy Famà
Multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Famà brings jazz, folk, and the blues through the lens of a queer son of an immigrant. Their East Coast roots blend with a West Coast fluidity to satisfy audiences from newborn to advanced age. Jeremy is known for traversing through the scenes of Portland as a seasoned street performer, session musician, and a regular staple for intimate venues. They’re part of a small batch record label called Fortune Ave Sapphire Records, based in Oregon City, and currently gigs with the band Talk Station.
Aslin
Aslin is a songwriter and performer, born and raised on Sauvie Island, making intimate, lyric-driven indie music. She grew up playing shows around the state, recently returning home to Portland after completing her degree in music business in Tennessee. Her latest EP, Inflight, details her journey of leaving home, chasing her dream of playing music across America, before finally returning home. Aslin has opened for artists like Phoebe Bridgers. She’s currently focused on performing across the West Coast and shaping her next full-length album.
Volunteer on a Jam! Crew
Help us make the Jam! happen and join a dedicated volunteer crew that will make a difference for our wider community. As a volunteer, you will play a key role in ensuring the Jam! runs smoothly, foster community, and gain event experience. The best part is you’ll be working with a high-energy team of other like-minded volunteers. Now accepting volunteer applications until 5/1!
Each Jam! Crew has one lead. Are you that person? You can apply to be a Lead through the link below. Jam! Crew shifts are 3 hours and Crew Lead shifts are for the duration of the event, with the exception of the Community Outreach Crew and Lead, who volunteer throughout April.
Community Outreach Crew (Volunteers in April)
Needed now! Our Community Outreach crew will run a “Plaster PDX” campaign to plaster Portland with promotional flyers for William Temple House Jam!

This role is perfect for “Connectors”, folks who are plugged in to Portland venues and communities, and folks who don’t mind walking.
Working in quadrant teams (NW Portland, NE, Pearl, SE, etc), each crew will plaster an area of Portland, focusing on key neighborhoods, high-traffic community areas, coffee shops, record stores, and local businesses, in collaboration with WTH staff.
This crew will start plastering the city the week of April 8th.
Registration Crew
Join our Registration Crew to check guests in to the event and sell tickets at the gate. This crew is the welcoming face of the Jam!

This position provides a seamless, professional, and welcoming entry experience for all attendees while ensuring 100% accuracy in financial transactions and guest check-ins. Must have experience or comfort with Point-of-Sale QR Code check-ins.

Impact Ambassador Crew
This crew is the voice and “map” of the Jam! Impact Ambassadors will act as “Mission Storytellers” and either manage an outdoor Impact booth or roam the event selling raffle tickets.

The Impact Ambassador Crew plays a crucial role in making the link between our music event and William Temple House’s vital counseling and social services.
Responsibilities include:
- Anchor the WTH services booth which contains the raffle prizes, Delivering a 30-second “elevator pitch” that connects the event to the essential food pantry, counseling, and social services William Temple House provides.
- Mobile Fundraising: Proactively roam the venue to sell raffle tickets and facilitate quick donations via QR code signage.
- Information Hub: Act as a “living map” for the event layout, ensuring guests never feel lost and always know where the next highlight (like the thrift booth) is located.
- The “Hype” Factor: Maintain high energy and a positive presence, encouraging guests to engage with the event’s goals while they enjoy the music.
Thrift Store Pop-up Crew
This crew creates and manages our Thrift Store Pop-up booth while serving as brand ambassadors for William Temple House Thrift Store, turning every purchase into an opportunity to educate guests on how their shopping fuels WTH services.

This role is great for people with previous retail or cashier experience. Responsibilities include:
- Boutique Merchandising: Maintain a high-vibe, curated look for the pop-up booth. Ensure items are neatly displayed, sized, and priced clearly to attract the “Jam!” crowd.
- Future-Customer Conversion: Hand out “Visit Us” cards or coupons to the brick-and-mortar store. Your goal is to turn a one-time event shopper into a lifelong thrift store regular.
- POS & Sales: Confidently handle transactions (likely via a mobile POS or QR system) and assist guests with finding the “perfect find” among the curated inventory.
- Inventory Management: Keep the booth stocked and organized throughout the event, ensuring the best items are front-and-center.
- The “Engine” Storyteller: Use every transaction as a talking point. Share the “Why” behind the “Buy”—explaining that every dollar spent at the booth (and the main store) directly funds the food pantry and counseling services. Use our predetermined talking points: For example: “Every $10 spent at this booth provides [X] meals for our food pantry.”
Artist Liaisons
Artist liaisons will work as a team to manage all aspects of our backstage artist area, ensuring the comfort of our artists.

- Transform the designated backstage area into a welcoming, organized “sanctuary.” Manage the rider/hospitality (snacks, drinks, towels) and ensure the space remains tidy and secure. Pick up the pre-ordered green room supplies on the way in (sandwiches/snacks).
- Artist Check-In & Load-In: Meet the talent upon arrival, show them their “home base,” and introduce them to the tech/sound crew for their soundcheck.
- The “Human Clock”: Monitor the run-of-show (ROS) religiously. Give artists their “15-minute” and “5-minute” warnings to ensure they are tuned up and side-stage exactly when the previous set ends.
- Stage Flow Support: Assist with the transition between acts—helping clear the stage of the previous artist’s gear (water bottles, setlists) so it’s pristine for the next performer.
Event Photographers
Capture the spirit of William Temple House Jam! through on-site event photography, taking high-quality photos of the Jam’s performances, art, and and community members in attendance. Artistic and editorial photos encouraged.

Photographers are invited to photograph in their own unique styles, and asked to either provide unedited or edited RAW/PNG files to WTH within a week after the event concludes for WTH’s promotional purposes. Photographers will be credited for their photos and we’re looking for photographers that have an artistic, editorial-style. Requires demonstrated Photography skills; preference given to those who have photographed past music events. Please bring your own device.
Pints in the Pantry Servers
Join our serving crew! Responsible for the safe, legal, and efficient service of beer during the event, ensuring every guest served is of legal drinking age and that WTH remains in total compliance with OLCC regulations.

Responsibilities include:
- ID checks: Strictly check the IDs of any guest who appears to be under the age of 26 (per OLCC “”reasonable doubt”” standards). Accept only unexpired, legal forms of ID (e.g., US State Driver’s License, Passport, US Military ID).
- Service Monitoring: Ensure no guest is over-served. Recognize signs of visible intoxication and professionally refuse service if necessary.
- Minor Control: Ensure no alcoholic beverages are handed to or consumed by minors within the event perimeter.
- Point of Sale: Completes sale of beverages via POS device and/or maintains cash box.
- Distribution: Feels comfortable pouring beer from a keg.
- Station Management: Maintain a clean, organized pouring station, manage ice/stock levels, and coordinate with the Internal Runner if supplies get low.
Stagehands
Our stagehands will keep the Jam! on time. Join this crew to assist with moving microphones, monitors, and instruments between sets to keep the music schedule on track.

Jack Of All Trades Crew (all positions filled)
The “Swiss Army Knife” of the day. This crew fills in on breaks, runs last-minute errands, and walks the grounds to monitor garbage cans and wires.

This crew fills in for breaks, runs last-minute errands, monitors trash stations for overflow, and clears empty glassware/plates from tables. other emergencies. This crew will also walk the grounds to ensure all cables are secured and covered (no tripping hazards) and assists with general floater activities.
Requires standing/walking for extended periods of time.

First Aid Crew
The First Aid Crew are the designated point of contact for minor medical needs and safety concerns. Requires CPR/AED/First Aid certification.

The First Aid crew provides support for minor medical needs and safety concerns. This crew provides immediate, basic medical assistance. Responsibilities include:
- Station Management: Remain at or near the designated “First Aid Station” (which should be clearly marked and easily accessible).
- Basic Care: Administer basic first aid for minor issues such as cuts, scrapes, stings, or minor falls.
- Alcohol-Related Safety: Assist the Beverage Station Lead if a guest appears ill or over-intoxicated, providing water and a safe place to sit until they can be safely transported home.
- Incident Logging: Maintain a simple log of any aid provided (time, name, nature of injury, and action taken) for the organization’s records.
Must hold a current, valid certificate in First Aid/CPR/AED (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent). Ideally a CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) member.
Shifts Available:
- First Aid & Safety Lead who acts as the designated point of contact & leads the crew. 6 hour shift (2pm to 8pm).
- 2pm to 5pm First Aid Crew member (3 hours)
- 5pm to 8pm First Aid Crew member (3 hours)
