$275,000 Goal

Access can’t wait.

As cuts to Medicaid and SNAP ask Portland families to do more with less, William Temple House is bringing mental health care and food assistance to the people who need it most.

That includes the people that never show up to our gates.

This year, we’re expanding counseling into the community to support three key populations through Anchor & Access:

K-12 Students at PPS’s Metropolitan Learning Center can access low-cost counseling right in their schools.

Women and children in crisis seeking safety at Rose Haven will connect with a WTH counselor.

And with your help, a senior facing isolation could soon access low-cost care.

When you help us raise $275,000 through our Help Spread Hope Campaign, your gift creates access.

$100 = One counseling session

$500 = 4,000 pounds of food

$1000 = A month of counseling & food for an entire family

Access Matters

Access Matters

Last year, nearly 9,000 Portlanders benefitted from our accessible services because of your donations.

“Having affordable counseling available is the only reason I was able to get help.”

“[The pantry] has helped me during financially stressful times.”

“I otherwise never would have been able to afford [counseling] due to my lack of adequate medical coverage.”

Anchor & Access brings care closer.

Some people face barriers that make counseling difficult to access, whether that’s cost, insurance, transportation, stigma, or life circumstances. By bringing our low-cost, no-insurance-required counseling into trusted community spaces, we’re removing those barriers and helping people connect not only to mental health care, but also to our food assistance and social services.

Why these populations?

Students.

Our students are facing higher mental health needs, impacting their ability to thrive.

Women & Children in Crisis.

When life becomes unstable, counseling can help people regain footing.

Older Adults.

Many seniors face isolation, grief, and barriers to affordable care.

You can help us furnish a counseling room!

This fall, students at Metropolitan Learning Center will talk with our counselors about anxiety, grief, family stress, bullying, identity, relationships, and the challenges of growing up. Help us furnish welcoming therapy rooms for kids with therapeutic toys, tools, and furniture.
