Donations of food, children's clothing, hygiene items
Distributed to individuals and families in need
William Temple House accepts donations of food to be distributed to individuals and families in need through its Food Pantry.
We accept donations of non-perishable foods year-round. The following items are especially helpful.
- Pasta and pasta sauce
- Canned soups, stews and chilis
- Canned vegetables
- Peanut butter
- Canned tuna and high-protein meats
- Potatoes, instant and fresh
We do accept fresh and frozen foods but ask that you call in advance so that we can verify that we have adequate refrigerator or freezer storage to accept the donation.
Donated hygiene items must be new and unopen.
Hotel-size and retail-size containers are accepted as are larger containers which may be repackaged into smaller containers.
Donations of these items are always needed.
- Body wash and bar soap
- Toothpaste and toothbrushes
- Toilet paper
- Feminine hygiene products
- Laundry detergent
- Dish soap
William Temple House accepts donations of new children’s clothing for distribution to school children ages 5 to 16 through our Children’s Clothing Closet. Families with children in need of adequate clothing are referred by local schools.
- Boys and girls shirts and pants
- Underwear and socks
- Sweatshirts and light jackets
- Winter coats, scarves, gloves and mittens
*We do not accept donations of new or used adult clothing for distribution directly to those in need. We do refer men and women in need to other local agencies for adult clothing or provide clothing vouchers to our thrift store. Donations of adult clothing should be made to our Thrift Store.
Donation drop-offs are accepted Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m to 3 pm.
Please call 503. 226.3021 in advance if you have a large donation, a donation of fresh or frozen food or need to make alternative drop-off arrangements. Thank you!
