Counseling shares tools for positive change

For low-income individuals or families in the Portland area, there is no better place to receive professional counseling than William Temple House.

The emphasis is on high-quality treatment, respect and open access. We help clients make positive changes in whatever area they need the most help.

We are unique in our ability to offer voluntary pastoral care. If a client at William Temple House chooses to share his or her beliefs as part of counseling, the counselor is free to incorporate those beliefs into the healing process.

"One of the things that's most precious to me about William Temple House is that we don't have to march to anyone else's drum," says Susan Bettis, Ph.D., clinical director of the counseling department. "We can use every resource to help people address their problems."

In addition to individual and family counseling sessions, William Temple House offers a variety of classes to help individuals and families build healthy lives.
