For low-income individuals or families in the Portland area, there is no better place to receive professional
counseling than William Temple House.
The emphasis is on high-quality treatment, respect and open access. We help clients make positive
changes in whatever area they need the most help.
We are unique in our ability to offer voluntary pastoral care. If a client at William Temple House
chooses to share his or her beliefs as part of counseling, the counselor is free to incorporate those beliefs
into the healing process.
"One of the things that's most precious to me about William Temple House is that we don't have to march
to anyone else's drum," says Susan Bettis, Ph.D., clinical director of the counseling department. "We can use every
resource to help people address their problems."

GROUP CLASSES
William Temple House offers several group classes
throughout the year.
HOW TO APPLY FOR SERVICES
Residents of the Portland metropolitan area who do not
have health insurance or resources to receive counseling may apply for
counseling services may apply for services by completing an application
and questionnaire.
Applications may be completed Monday through Thursday at William Temple
House in northwest Portland. Please call 503.226.3021 for more information
about the application process.
Counseling is available for families, couples and individuals.
Children under age 14 are seen only if their parents are enrolled in
family, couples or individual counseling.
A fee of $10 per session is charged for individuals, couples and family
counseling services and is payable in cash at the time of service. No one
is turned away for inability to pay.

Counseling services are offered at William Temple House's northwest
Portland location at 2023 NW Hoyt Street.
